The Notes, Yarmouth Maine: Early education benefits children, familes, and our economy

On November 16, 2010, The Notes, a Yarmouth, ME weekly magazine, published a letter by Rep. Meredith Strang Burgess, CEO of Burgess Marketing and Advertising, and member of the Maine House of Representatives. District 108.  In her letter, Meredith writes that there are not enough skilled workers to fill job openings in Maine, and that Maine companies are paying for remedial math classes for new employees.  Meredith writes that Maine can get the skilled workers it needs through investments in early childhood education programs.
